Beautiful Weather and Bass Fishing

With the rain we have been having I have finally had a chance to work on the boat, clean up my mess of a tackle cave, restock on tackle, and catch up on paperwork! The behind the scenes of guiding aren't as glamorous as the fish catch pictures.

I've been a little behind on updating reports though, so I wanted to catch up! Last week I a great couple from Houston out on Lake Travis. CJ was an experienced angler and said he fishes Lake Conroe often. He was very quick to pick up on the different techniques and baits I showed him how to use.

The pattern on Travis hasn't changed a ton lately. (However I suspect with this rain and drop in temps, we may see a few more fish moving up in the creeks) For now though, the bite has been on drop shots, senkos and jigs. Bait selection is important, but finding the fish is more important. Right now, not every deep spot of mine is holding large schools of bass... but if you graph enough you'll find them!

Right now is still a good time to learn how to fish deep and hone your skills to find those tough to catch summertime bass. If you are in Austin and want to do some fishing give me a shout! Lake Travis is fishing well and I am the fishing guide that specializes in that lake! I also guide Lake LBJ and Lake Bastrop! (I was at Bastrop a few days ago, its fishing very well right now!!)

Tight lines!
