The fishing on Lake Travis has continued to be good despite the warmer weather! Water temps have creeped up to the low 80s which has pushed a lot of fish deeper. Moving offshore targeting drains where the brush grew in during the last drought, rock piles around points, or bluff walls have all been solid patterns.
Paying attention to the way you work your bait and making sure you are slowing down enough to allow the bait to fall down into the brush when fishing brush piles has truly been the key. I like to rig these baits light in order to prevent snagging, but it requires you to slow down with your presentation and allow the bait to fall on slack line in order to really effectively fish it. Keep this in mind when you're throwing some of the baits recommended in this week's report.
As always, this week's Honey Hole Report contains five exact pins where I have caught good fish with my clients over the past week. The report contains the GPS coordinates to each spot, the baits and colors I recommend, and recommendations on conditions to look for as well as how to work your bait.
