If you've read my recent reports you'll know I have been on an amazing Striper bite! Well the bite is still hot! When I am on a bite like this I usually keep it hush hush until its over, but with my normal clientele being bass fishermen I needed to get my name out. Well it definitely worked, I am booked solid until mid next week! However all the "internet fishermen" come out when they see a report. Everyone I spoke too on the water said they saw my posts... Unfortunately some folks don't like to give you space.
In no way do I have a problem with other boats getting in on the action! I encourage it actually, I certainly don't own the lake. But for anyone reading this, you don't need to be within 15 feet of my boat to catch fish.... Striper are a schooling fish and are constantly moving.
With that said, the other night was crazy, there was a boat fishing right on top of me. They recognized me and wanted to fish close. At the end of the night by the time we left they had caught 0 fish... we had boated 9 and lost 5. Not only that but the size was incredible! My buddy David caught a 17.7 LBS personal best!
I also caught a new personal best tipping the scales at 18.05! My other buddy Garrett also caught 5 very nice fish. We had several over 10 LBS.
Over all it was a great bite! If you want to get in on this bite give me a call! I may have a few tricks that you don't know that might benefit you. Theres a little more to it than dropping down a live bait and hoping something eats it.
Lake Travis is hot right now and I am the only fishing guide in Austin offering Striper trips on Lake Travis. Trips leave at 8pm from Mansfield Dam, only 20 minutes from Downtown Austin! Give me a call or book online if you want to hook into a monster Striper!
