EDIT: LAKE TRAVIS IS OPEN AS OF NOVEMBER 6, 2018
As of the time of this article, Lake Travis is 16+ feet over flood pool! Over the last few days the highland chain of lakes has received an unprecedented amount of rain. To put things in perspective, Lake Travis has risen 24 feet since this time yesterday.... to me that amount of water is unfathomable.
Currently every single lake along the Colorado River: Lake Buchanan, Lake Marble Falls, Inks Lake, Lake LBJ, Lake Travis, Lake Austin, and Lady Bird Lake all have their flood gates open. I just watched a press conference by the Lower Colorado River Authority (LCRA) stating that they may open as many as 8 flood gate on Mansfield Dam. That will be the most flood gates open in the history of Lake Travis!
Please check out the photos I took yesterday when Skeeter and I went exploring. If you haven't already my Instagram is @laketravisfishingguide I update it more often with photos from the lake and fishing trips.
