Today I had a half day trip on Lake Decker. Ronnie and his wife were passing through Austin on their vacation and wanted to get out fishing! With Lake Travis off limits per BassChamps until Saturday we opted to hit up Decker. FYI if you haven't been out there in a while you should check it out, it has been fishing well lately!
I'll keep the report short as its a lot of the same ol same ol. Find the patchy grass and pick it apart with plastics. My clients today felt more comfortable with spinning rods, but if you have a bait caster with braided line throw a swim jig or a rattle trap around.
We marked quite a bit of bait on the graph when checking out some ledges and points. Lots of life in the lake right now and that grass should start getting thick again as the water temps warm.
Water temps today were around 60 degrees, so a little cooler than I would have liked.
I will be back out there tomorrow and Friday and will report back!
If you are looking for an Austin fishing guide give me a shout!
